Robert 'Mark''s Story
Robert "Mark" Galloway was born Dec 28, 1949 in Corsicana, Texas and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 23, 2017. Son of Albert and Katherine Galloway, Mark grew up in Corsicana and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and graduated Corsicana High School in 1968. He obtained a bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated law school at Southern Methodist University. Mark practiced law in Corsicana and Dallas, then transitioned into the oil and gas industry as an attorney/landman for 33 years. Mark worked for Sun Oil, Oryx Energy, Kerr-McGee, Anadarko, and Exco Energy where he retired in 2014.
In 1982, Mark married Diane McMullan at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. They had three sons and lived in Plano, The Woodlands and Prosper, Texas. Mark served as little league coach, Sunday school teacher, usher and volunteer at Bethlehem Place. He was a man of deep faith, who loved spending times with his sons as they grew up playing sports, as well as Indian Guides. In retirement, he was active in "Monday School", a weekly men's Bible study. He was a lifetime football, baseball and oldies fan.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Katherine Galloway; and sister, Kay Allen. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Diane Galloway; son and his wife, Steven and Sara Galloway of San Diego, California; sons Jeff Galloway of Denver, Colorado; and Drew Galloway of College Station, Texas; as well as nieces Lisa Chambless of Flint, Texas; and Shelly Peterson of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas with Sr. Pastor Jason McConnell officiating. Celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Prosper United Methodist Church with Sr. Pastor Jason McConnell officiating.
The family wishes to thank the kidney cancer team at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the ICU team at Baylor Scott & White McKinney for their excellent care.
