Newt Lynn "Mooney" Holloway, 88 of Kerens, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his residence.
Mooney was born May 24, 1929 in Kerens to Newt Holloway and Maida Barnes Holloway. He was a city mail carrier for 32 years in Kerens and was owner of the Hubbard Livestock Barn for 24 years.
Preceded in death by daughter, Maida Holloway Bryson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Kerens First Baptist Church with funeral service to begin at 2 p.m. Rev. Kathy Collier and Bro David LeFlore to officiate and burial to follow in the Kerens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Tramel, Brent Holloway, Bruce Franklin, Bradley Mathis, Terry Tolveer, and Sonny Warren; Honorary Pallbearers are, Dale Crawford, Sandy Kirby, Russ Crawford, Tommy Darby, Joe Baxter, Roy Kamp, Homer Gene Wasson and Gooley Orr.
He is survived by his wife, Sug Holloway; sons, Rickie Holloway of Trinidad and Paul Holloway of Kerens; brother, Glenn Holloway of Youngsville, Louisiana; sister, Audrey Timpa of Garland; 10 grandchildren, Brent Holloway, Melissa Eakin, Nicole Holloway, Shannon Holloway, Billy Tramel, Heather Knotts, Tez Warren, Sonny Warren, Bobbie Bryson and Rene Madden along with 10 great grandchildren.
