Mike Reznicek, 64, passed from this life surrounded by his wife, Jane; his children Michael, Rachel, Tina and close friend, Marie from Rice, Thursday, Jan. 12, 2018.
Mike was born in Forney, June 21, 1953 to Charlie and Carrie (Kvapil) Reznicek. He grew up in Forney and attended school there. He went on to Lincoln Technical School. On Oct. 20, 1995 he married Jane Whitaker and they made their home in Rice.
He worked for Fuel and Oil Distribution for many years. He was a volunteer police officer in Rice and was a member of the Rice School Booster Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Carrie Reznicek, sisters, Betty Ann Reznicek, Jenny Matous, and brothers, Charlie, Frank, and Louis Reznicek.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Jane Reznicek; son, Michael Reznicek, Jr.; daughters Rachel Wampler, Tina Dunn, Beverly Bryant and Cindy Glenn; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Vaughan along with a multitude of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Pallbearers will be Jason Matous, Matt Dunn, Charles Wampler, Perry Williamson, Abdon Sulak and John Matous. Interment will follow in Rice Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
