Maggie L. French, 89, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her residence. She was born Aug. 13, 1927 in Nacogdoches, Texas to John and Mary Kate (Acosta) Arriola.
Maggie was an extraordinary person whose outgoing personality left an impression on all who knew and loved her. She was always happy but was also serious-minded. She was a former resident of Corsicana for about 20 years and they attended Petty's Chapel Baptist Church during that time. She worked for over 40 years at Proctor & Gamble.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Kate Arriola; two brothers; and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence E. French; sister, Eula Harp, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service will be Rev. Elvin Sikes of the Petty's Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Brushie Prairie Cemetery.
