Lewis Dean Bryant Sr. (LD) was born in Elm Flat on June 12, 1940 to Norman and Judy Bryant. LD Bryant, Sr., departed this life to enter eternal rest on Jan. 6, 2017.
LD received his formal education and diploma from Park High School in Goodlow. After graduation he moved to California to continue his education, pursuing his passion and love for cars at Los Angeles Community College. He graduated in 1961 as a paint and body mechanic.
LD began his spiritual journey as a child attending Mt. B. Zion Baptist Church with his family. He continued to serve God at New Hope Baptist Church where he was baptized and served in many capacities.
In 1962 LD moved back to Goodlow and began his career at Kinbrew Chevrolet where he would later retire. In 1963 LD united in marriage to Edna Mae Lincoln. Unto this union of 53 years, Lewis (JR), Edna (Sister), Kenneth, and Landon were born. After retiring from Kinbrew Chevrolet LD started his own business, Bryant Body Shop. He was also employed by Kerens ISD for 15 years.
LD was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Norman and Judy Bryant; siblings, Norman L. Bryant, Myrtle B. Hunt, Eddie B Giddings, Hazel Lee Hayden and Ora Lee Hamilton.
leaving his loving memories to be cherished are his loving wife Edna Mae Bryant; children, Lewis Jr, Edna Harvey (Don), Kenneth (Riva) and Landon; honorary sons, Thaddeus Lincoln (Sheila), and Donterias Bryant; honorary daughter, Quindana Bryant; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Otis D Bryant (Sharon), Lonnie B Bryant (Jean); many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will begin from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at Ross and Johnson Mortuary.
Funeral services are set to begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Goodlow-Kerens with pastors Earnest Betts, Jr. and Samuel Washington Officiating.
Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery, Round Prairie.
