Lauren Atkeisson, 18, of Kerens, Texas, was called to her Heavenly Home Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017. Lauren was born Sept. 29, 1999, and lived her 18 years in Kerens. She is survived by her parents, David and Leah Atkeisson, sister Katie, grandparents Charles and Vickie Norton of Santo, Texas, Larry Dodson of Austin, and A.L. "Buster" and Brenda Atkeisson of Kerens, her Uncle Brad and Aunt Michelle Atkeisson of Fairfield, and cousins McKenzie and Cole Beddingfield. She is also survived by a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends as well as her little dog Brandi.
Lauren fought hard to come into this world and was a fighter until the end. She is now dancing with Jesus. Lauren loved everyone she came into contact with. She possessed an infectious smile and a sweet, sweet spirit. She loved her family and friends. Lauren was a senior at Kerens High School and loved supporting her Bobcats, especially her sister Katie. Lauren was an active member of the current FFA and enjoyed showing her animals. Lauren loved helping and teaching little children. She helped teach the preschool Sunday school class at First Baptist Church and really enjoyed her time as a classroom aide in the Pre-K class at Kerens Elementary. Lauren also loved helping her family work cattle and participate in the family business producing rodeos. Lauren was an old soul and impacted everyone that she came into contact with. Lauren had so many special people in her life.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church Kerens. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 at the First Baptist Church Kerens. Jimmy Glenn and Rev. Wes Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brad Atkeisson, Cole Beddingfield, Ronald Burton, Dana Griffin, Jayson Engel, and Randy Toliver. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends Wyatt Phillips and Roy Hamilton.
