Kenneth "Rock" Derden Of Corsicana passed away Dec. 26, 2017 with his children by his side.
He was loved dearly and never met a stranger. He was a joker and everyone who knew him knew he would tell some silly off the wall stories or jokes just to get a laugh.
In his younger years, he was given the nick name "Rock" and it stuck with him through out his life. When the name "Rock" was mentioned...everyone knew it was him.
He was in a band and loved to sing and play the guitar but as his illness progressed over the years he was unable to play. He was an artist and very creative and an awesome cook.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Nelly Holloway Morgan and his father Bruce Derden, and his uncle Roy Derden.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah Freeman and grandsons Tyler and Cody Williams; son Shane Derden and wife Kim and grandchildren Madison and Ethan Derden; daughter Tammy Sanches Miller and husband Terry and grandchildren Trey Schultz, Tiffany Schultz, Tanner Miller and Raven Miller; sister Carolyn Daugherty and nephew Justin of Missouri. He is also survived by a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. He was closest to Roy, Gary and Timmy Derden who weren't just cousins but more like brothers.
His children would like to ask that instead of flowers that donations be made to the Navarro food pantry and meals on wheels.
Those who would like to speak, tell a story or share a memory at his memorial please be prepared to do so, as we want this to be a happy memorial in his honor.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at the Cowboy Church of Corsicana, located at 5910 W. Hwy. 31 in Corsicana.
