John  Bradley


On Friday, June 14, 2019 John Bradley Kestler, Jr. (Jack) joined his beautiful wife, Joyce Copeland Bradley and other loved ones in heaven.
Jack was born on July 12, 1928 to John Kestler Bradley and Mary Pearl Ingram Bradley in Rice. He worked as he attended North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington (North Aggieland), Navarro College, Texas A&M University and East Texas State University earning a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Science.
Jack married Joyce Copeland Bradley on Aug. 20, 1950 at 11th Ave Methodist Church in Corsicana, Texas. They were married almost 61 years. Jack served the Soil Conservation Service Branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a District Conservationist in Ennis, Texas and retired as an Area Conservationist in Gainesville Texas in 1984. Jack faithfully volunteered and served in leadership positions in his home communities through Methodist Churches, Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Rice Bank, Freemasons, the Boy Scouts of America (earning the highest volunteer award of the Silver Beaver), Navarro College Alumni Association and as a 60 year member and officer of Lions Club International.

John Kestler Bradley, Jr. is preceded in death by parents, J.K. and Mary Pearl Ingram Bradley, wife Betty Joyce Copeland Bradley, brother Robert Ingram Bradley. He is survived by children, Pam and Charles Weaver, Priscilla and James Clay and John and Melony Bradley. Grandchildren, Andy Weaver, James and Pamela Clay, Trey and Jessica Trueblood, Ashley and Shane Pierce, Emily and Eric Seed, Addison and Anita Bradley and Tara Bradley. Great grandchildren, Maisie, Madison and Gunter Hurst, Dorothy Clay, Rebekah Pierce, Brooklyn and Ava Seed and Kayla Trueblood. Sister, Bettye Bradley Jackson, sister in law Beverly Benton Bradley, brothers in law Jack Jones and Bill Wilson. Special friends, JoAnn Ellington, Martha Chilbert, Ken an Lynn Authier, Members of the Corsicana Lions Club and St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Weaver, James Clay, Trey Trueblood, Eric Seed, Shane Pierce, Addison Bradley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church or Charity of your choice.

Jack was a wonderful neighbor and so kind to my children. We’ll miss him dearly.
