Jimmie Darlene (Jackson) Howell, 79, of Dawson, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at her home.
Jimmie Darlene was born Nov. 24, 1937 in Dawson to Thomas Franklin Jackson and Eva Lorene (Nesmith) Jackson. She spent her early childhood in Dawson before the family moved to Lancaster where she graduated from high school and later attended business school in Dallas. Jimmie Darlene worked for St. Regis Paper Company in Dallas for over 28 years before retiring.
She had many hobbies including sewing by hand, quilting, genealogy and scrapbooking. Jimmie Darlene was loving and loyal to family and friends and was a source of comfort and joy to countless people to the end of her days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Lusk and her second husband, James Gilbreath.
Survivors include her brother, Harold Jackson and wife, Jackie; an aunt and uncle, Peggy and Billy Joe McCulloch; an aunt, Helen Widener; one niece; three great-nephews; one great-niece and many cousins and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 13 at Wade Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14 at Wade Funeral Chapel in Hubbard with interment to follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster. Pallbearers will be Scott Hadden, Brian Jackson, Don Nesmith, Tom Koonce, Harvey Herbert and Bill Howard.
