Jesslyn McDaniel of Corsicana, formerly of Richland, left her earthly home for her eternal home with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family. Jesslyn was born Nov. 2, 1934 in Richland to Sammie Ellis Fultz and Ethel Irene McElroy Fultz.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother and her loving husband of 50-plus years Earl McDaniel Jr.
Jesslyn loved all children even though she had none of her own. She was a devoted Children's Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church Richland all her adult life and up until she became ill. She also loved to be around people and never met a stranger, even after moving from her home to assisted living and then to skilled nursing.
Jesslyn is survived by her five sisters, Evelyn Adams of Orange, Martha McDonald, Billie McNeel, Wanda Neeley and Earlene Slaughter all of Corsicana, many nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Richland Cemetery.
Our family would like to express our thanks to Heritage Oaks West and Family First Hospice for the loving spirit and care they gave Jesslyn. Memorials may be made to a Childrens' Ministry at your local churches.
