Mrs. Ida Jean Powell, 81, of Corsicana passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana. She was born on Aug. 11, 1935 in Maryville, Tennessee to Eulas Nay and Carrie Elizabeth Fields Johnson.
She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother of three sons, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church where she was involved in the tape ministry for many years. She had a great love for her Lord and her church family, and her two dogs, Rico and Chachi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Powell; her parents; brother-in-law, Frank Bufford and a niece, Tammy "Sis."
She is survived by her sons, Randy Powell and wife Kathy of Thomasville, N. Carolina, Kent Powell and wife Vonda of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Rodger Powell and wife Brenda of Corsicana; grandsons, Chris Powell of Thomasville, N. Carolina and Jeremy Powell of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Jacqi Powell Garcia of Houston; two great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Bufford of Searcy, Arkansas and a nephew, Darrell Bufford of Searcy.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at Corley Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery with Pastor Larry Talbert officiating.
