Hollis's Story

Hollis Riggs of Corsicana passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 in Dallas. Hollis was born Feb. 6, 1941 in Corsicana to Hollis and Viola Riggs. Hollis was a barber for 57 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Eureka many years ago. He enjoyed his wife, Debbie's cooking and spending time with his family. He enjoyed being home working around the house.
Since his retirement he would spend his mornings at Whataburger with the Whataburger crew. He would share Debbie's baked good with the crew and began a little side business taking orders, Debbie would bake and Hollis would deliver, one of the favorites was her peanut brittle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kevin Riggs.
Hollis leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Debbie Kennedy Riggs; daughters, Cindy McCarter and Melissa Riggs; step-daughter, Alyssa Hill and step-son Adam Hill; three grandchildren, Caitlin McCarter, Bryce Riggs and Erica Riggs and four great grandchildren.
Memorial serviced will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Lamb and Bro. Richard Hamm officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
