Gladys "Lolly" Frances Sparks of Corsicana passed away peacefully in Arlington Friday, July 6, 2018 at the age of 83. She was born Dec. 20, 1934 to Michael Joseph Ippolito, Gladys Watts and raised by Agnes Ippolito in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York.
Lolly had many interests and inexhaustible energy. Her career included volunteer work at family services providing support for United States military families, a secretary at Atlas Moving and Storage and an administrative position at a local hotel.
Lolly was a devoted wife and traveled around the world living at different military bases. After raising her children Lolly started three successful small businesses which included Lolly's Ceramics and Afghans, Video Personalities, and Lolly's Embroidery. Lolly was also very active at her church, Immaculate Conception, and was pleased to craft many items for the parishioners and vestments for the Clergy.
Lolly was deeply committed to her family and will be missed by her family and many friends. They will always cherish the memory of her. She was a businesswoman, a seamstress, a fascinating story teller, a shopaholic and a cook who wasn't afraid to experiment. She had wit, grace, charm and boundless optimism and energy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 and a half years to Neal Francis Sparks (Msgt. USAF Retired) of Corsicana.
Lolly is survived by their five children, Michael and BachCuc Sparks of Houston, Denise and Fred Reed of Killeen, Wayne and Janet Sparks of Arlington, Kevin and Jeanette Sparks of Corsicana and Kenneth and Julie Sparks of Missouri City, Texas. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren Benjamin and wife Alison, Samuel and wife Adriane, Matthew and wife Christie, Steven, Patrick, Harrison and Alexis Satterwhite, Rebecca, Lolly, Zachary and Katie, Holly Sparks and Samuel Chiaramonte; her 14 great grandchildren, Ashley, Isabella, Aiden, Ethan, Noah, Nadia, Malachi, Naomi, Elena, Isaac, Lucas, Harrison Jr., Ty and Logan.
A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 with Deacon Lewis Palos officiating. Interment to follow at 2 p.m. at the Dallas Forth Worth National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Benjamin, Samuel, Matthew, Harrison, Aiden, and Ethan Sparks.
