Franklin Delano Carroll ("Red"), 84, of Corsicana passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 at The Woodlands Health Care Center in The Woodlands. He was the youngest of five children born to Thomas Edward Carroll and Willie Lee Edwards Carroll on Nov. 1, 1932.
He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1950. Red proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. He worked many years as an electrician and retired from Oil City Iron Works as head of maintenance in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gerald, James and Joe; brothers-in-law James Owen and Billy Owen; and his wife of 57 years, Mildred Joyce Owen Carroll.
He is survived by his two children, Sharon Ann Bush and husband Don of Forney and Dr. David Franklin Carroll and wife Karyn of The Woodlands; grandchildren Jonathan Wilcox of Corsicana, Jennifer Wood and husband Brian of Forney, Kaitlyn Carroll, currently studying at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea and Cody Carroll, currently studying at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, Whitney Smith and Layton Smith of Forney; great-grandchildren Coby Wood and Brady Wood of Forney; sister Peggy Woods of Burkburnett; sisters-in-law Patricia Owen and Sherry Owen of Corsicana and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec 4, 2016 at The Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Carroll officiating.
Interment will follow at the Dresden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Bush, Tim Campbell, Cody Carroll, Chris Owen and Brian Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Carroll, Kaitlyn Carroll, John Myers, Geral Nichols, Ben Owen, Michael Owen, Jonathan Wilcox and Bob Woods.
