Frances Yvonne Walker

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Frances Yvonne Neal Walker, 88 of Corsicana, left this earth on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. She is now in the arms of God. She was born Nov. 12, 1929 in Coolidge, Texas to Clara Ollie Futch and Wesley Dee Neal. She graduated valedictorian from Mildred High School in 1947, and started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone. She transferred to Houston and continued on retiring from AT&T in 1989, when she retired and moved permanently to Donie, Texas with her husband Herbert D. Walker, building their retirement dream home. She moved to Corsicana in 2003 after Herbert had a stroke, and devoted her life to his care until his death in January 2007.
Throughout her life, she was always involved in church, especially the youth. Being a Sunday School teacher was very important to her. During her retirement years, she was an election judge for many years, and she was a charter member of the Trinity Star DAR Chapter in Freestone County, Texas, serving as regent and holding other offices, before transferring to the James Blair DAR Chapter in Corsicana. She loved her time as a Pink Lady at Navarro Hospital in Corsicana. One of her favorite things was working on family history and genealogy and spent countless hours researching and taking notes from many family members. She loved to write poetry, and she painted many pictures, and ceramics. But above all, she loved the Lord, and she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers Joe Dean and Wesley Neal, and two sisters Ruth Phillips and Dorothy Golden.
She is survived by her daughter Suzanne Walker Neal and husband Chuck of Gaithersburg, Maryland, grandchildren Robyn Dobson and husband Jason of San Rafael, California, Nathaniel Neal and wife Melissa of Enterprise, Alabama, Rebecca Shambo and husband Matt of Richmond, England; and her son Jimmy Walker of Austin, and grandchildren Shannon Walker of Spring, Texas, and Emmett Walker of Pinellas Park, Florida.; five great-grandchildren Devin, Tanner, and Camden Neal, and Ava and Junior Walker; a brother Franklin Neal of Corsicana; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas. Mon.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel followed by a lunch for family and traveling friends at Second Avenue Baptist Church. Then on to a graveside service at 2 p.m. at Wilson Chapel in Donie, Texas.
