Elizabeth Dunham Owens, 87, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1929 in Eureka to Robert Chatham Dunham and Maude Frame Dunham. She was a member of Pioneer. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, sewing and shopping and enjoyed facebooking in her later years. She also loved to bake. She would often bake for her neighbors and especially at Christmas time. She was a very giving, selfless person and she loved her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Chat and Maude Dunham; sister Jean Kent; nephew, Steve DeMoss and the love of her life of 49 years, Jack Owens.
She is survived by her sister, Bobbie Wallis; husband R.B.; nephew Joel Robert DeMoss; niece, Laurie Morgan and husband Wade; special great nephew, Robert Chathum DeMoss and wife Susan; great-great nephew, Preston Mosley; great-great nieces, Whitney DeMoss and Krysta Nelson; very very special great-great niece, another love of her life, Alyssa Elaine DeMoss and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Grady Cashion and Charky Marquis officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Kinkaid, Tony Lively, James David Stubbs, Jim Owens, Raymond Rosas, Barry Robinson, Bill Smith and Jim Stacey.
