Mr. Elbert Glenn Dixson, 83, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Twilight Home. He was born on July 3, 1933 in Kaufman County to Elbert D. and Lucille (Baker) Dixson.
Glenn was a hard working man who dedicated his life to providing for his wife and family. He enjoyed spending his time "tinkering" in his large garage that he loved. He enjoyed fixing and building things whether it was wood work or machines.
He met the love of his life, Peggy, when they were very young children and he instantly fell in love with her. They had a brief separation when he enlisted in the United States Navy and served eight years. Afterwards, fate brought them back together and they have been inseparable ever since. He worked for Sears and retired after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert D. and Lucille Dixson; sister, Melba Rose Dixson and brother, Guy Farrell Dixson.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy (Greenawalt) Dixson; daughters, Tammy Westover, and Deborah Lynn Busby and husband Dan; son, Randy Howard Dixson and wife Kitty; grandchildren, Daniel Busby and wife Ashley, Schelly Busby, and Rhonda Davis and husband Kelly; great-grandchildren, Zach Davis and Ashlee Davis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:15 p.m. at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with the U.S. Navy providing military honors. Officiating the service will be Pastor Cory Brand.
