Eddy's Story

Eddy Nester, 71, of Rockport passed away from cardiac arrest Dec. 14, 2017. He was born to Walter and Lois Nester in Union, Mississippi.
Eddy proudly served his country in the United States Airforce from 1965-1969 and was a Vietnam veteran. The American flag waves proudly at their home as a sign of his love and commitment for his country.
He was employed by the K-Mart Distribution Center as a department manager for 33 years prior to his retirement. He also worked for Fincanteri Marine System North America Inc., in Ingleside for seven years.
He dearly loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The highlight of his week was 'Friday Night Lights" football games so he could watch his grandson, Austen, play football and also watch his granddaughter, Emily play volleyball.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lois Nester, two brothers, James and Thomas Nester and one sister Charlotte Ming.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of 51 years, daughters Michelle (Shannon) Reynolds of Rockport and Laurie (Jeff) Bohn of Shreveport, Louisiana; one sister Elizabeth (John) Uskovich of Gig Harbor, Washington; his brother Sidney Nester of Mendenhall, Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Joshua of New Orleans, Louisiana, JJ, Ashley, Simon and Hannah of Shreveport, Louisiana; Austen and Emily Reynolds of Rockport and two great grandchildren Brayden and Chyna.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at the Rockport Church of God. Private full military honor burial was held Monday, Dec. 18, 017 at the Coastal Bend Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were his seven grandchildren.
