Earl's Story

Earl Floyd Schwab was born on June 17, 1933 in St. Paul, Minnesota to William Valentine Schwab and Flossie Julia Wehmeyer Schwab. He went to his eternal rest very peacefully surrounded by his loving children and their families who he adored on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 in Corsicana at the age of 83 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle to all his family.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, they shared 48 years together. Also by his infant son Stephen Ray Schwab, brothers Raymond Johnson and John William Schwab, sister Betty Lou Christian and brothers-in-law Joe Christian and Virgil Schievelbein.
He is survived by his six children Tim Schwab, Tracy Wellman and husband Wendell, Carolyn Hairston and husband Terry, Michael Schwab and wife Debbie, Joyce Spates and husband JB and David Winn and wife, Anna; sister Carole Schievelbein and sister-in-law, Joyce Schwab; sister-in-law Mary Ann Mason and husband Johnny; brother-in-law Lee Faktor and wife Betty; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Earl was a long distance truck driver and retired on 30 years with Yellow Freight Lines on June 30, 1997. He was in the reserves and was a member of Navarro Mills Baptist Church in Barry.
The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at Navarro Mills Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Butler officiating. Interment to follow at Dresden Cemetery.
