Doris Ragan Johnson, 84, was born in Streetman, July 24, 1933 to J.T. Bennett and Goldie Bennett Winters. She passed peacefully Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 in The Woodlands surrounded by loved ones.
Doris married Bueford Ragan Sept. 24, 1945, and was
married to him 48 years before his death in 1995. In later years, Doris married Walter E. Johnson and spent seven happy years together prior to Walter's death in 2009.
Doris retired from Collins Street Bakery where she worked as a supervisor in the mailroom for 30 plus years. Prior to that she worked at the Texan Glove Factory and Adam's Hats.
Two beautiful granddaughters were the delight of Doris and she loved every minute she spent with them, and was so very proud of each of them and their accomplishment. Family was the heart of her and she enjoyed her last year surrounded by those that loved her as she battled complications of diabetes and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and only son, Ronnie Lee Ragan.
She leaves behind her daughter, Marjetta Spriggs (Ricky) and daughter-in-law, Rose Mary Ragan; granddaughters, Leigh Ann Ragan Anderson (Ronny), Stacy Spriggs (Clint Wade) and Richard Herling (June.) Brother Charles Bennett, Dear loyal friends Benny Coburn, Ida and MH Blue and Rosie and Russell Maiville and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2017 at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat with Brother Randy Miller officiating.
