Clark Putman Sr. of Navarro Mills passed away at Navarro Regional Hospital early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born March 25, 1920 in Navarro County to Edgar Lee and Eva Clark Putman. Clark worked for the City of Corsicana in the Water Treatment Plant for 23 years. He served in the United States Army in the Pacific during World War II. He enjoyed ranching and music and was an avid fiddler player. He was a member of Dawson United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Putman; parents; son Clark Putman Jr.; sisters, Margaret, Oletta and Jean; brother Wendell. He is survived by children, Brenda Duncan and husband Dwight, James Putman and wife Jan; daughter-in-law Jean Putman; grandchildren, Gay Lyn Hendrik, Lisa Blakemore, Shaun Putman, Jason Putman, Michelle Brannan, Brandon Putman; great-grandchildren, Krislynn Lee Putman, Tyler Blakemore, Dillon Putman, Breanna Putman, Case Putman and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017 with Denny Burris officiating. Interment will follow at Dresden Cemetery.
We would like to recognize a few who were special to him these last few years. The Dawson Breakfast crew, neighbors who brought food and aide, Peggy and her cafe and store staff and Randy. Also many friends and family that are too numerous to count. And last but not least his cattle whom he loved more than life itself.
