Burvin Terry Smith of Corsicana passed away at his home on Sunday afternoon Nov. 5, 2017 at the age of 68 with his family at his side.
Terry was born on Feb. 5, 1949 in Corsicana to Thomas Burvin Smith and Allene Marie Chapman. He married Charlotte Smith on May 3, 1985 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Corsicana. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the 25th Infantry Division. He served as a firefighter in Corsicana and went on to work and retired from Big Brown in Fairfield. He was a proud member of the Corsicana Masonic Lodge and St. Luke United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Marie Smith, and his mother Allene Marie Chapman, and parents Burvin and Beth Smith.
Survivors include daughters Amanda Al Omari, and Karen Goode; grandchildren, Courtney Thompson, Katie Thompson, Haley Garland, Michael Reed, Hagen Parten, and Beaux Clark. He is also survived by his siblings Carla Freeman, Diane Boling, Ron Smith, Bari Bellicini and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and long time caregiver, Delores Anderson.
Visitation with his family will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, in the chapel at Griffin Roughton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.
