Bobby Lee Almendarez, Jr. passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He was born Sept. 11, 1968 in Corsicana to Bobby and Linda Almendarez.
Bobby grew up in Kerens, where he played football, basketball and ran track. He was a member of the Kerens FFA and the highlight of that were his show pigs, Boss Hog I and Boss Hog II who was grand champion.
Bobby graduated from Kerens High School in 1987. He was voted Most Likely to Succeed in life and Most Studious by his senior classmates. He was a member of the National Beta Honor Society and All District Baseball member his senior year. He attended the University of Texas at Austin but ended up graduating of North Texas University with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting Degree.
Bobby is survived by his father, Bobby Almendarez of Kerens; sister, Kim Hippard of Ennis; two uncles, Alfred Almendarez of Kerens and Osye Pritchett of Frisco; grandmother, Pat "Mimi" Pritchett of Hutchins; niece Amanda Jackson of Hutchins and his most favorite person, nephew Evan Allen.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at Paschal Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Paschal Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Kerens Cemetery.

I went to school with Bobby we play football and basketball and ran track together he was my friend and I will surely miss him I haven’t seen him and years but he looks the same the family are in my prayers

I grew up in Kerens with Bobby played football and baseball with him throughout our school years. I can’t remember very many times he didn’t have a big smile on his face. He was always cracking jokes and making his teammates feel better even when times weren’t so great.

We never had privilege to meet Bobby, however are blessed to have shared many loving moments as young Evan spoke of him and ways he talks to him about monster trucks and other boy interests. Please accept our condolences.
