Bobbie Harris Allison, formerly of Corsicana, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 at her home in Providence Village in Denton County at the age of 94. She was born on Dec. 8, 1922 in Loving, Texas to Benjamin Hawkins and Jessie Jordan Hawkins. She married Raymond Harris in Oklahoma and the next day he left for Europe during World War II and fought in the "Battle of the Bulge." During the time he was gone she moved to St. Louis and helped with the war effort building planes and became one of the "Rosie the Riveters." Following the war they moved to Corsicana in 1963 and she went to work at Medical Arts Clinic for the physicians helping with office management. Bobbie enjoyed home decoration and really enjoyed gardening. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Corsicana while living here. In 2014 she moved with her daughter from Corsicana.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Harris in 1976 and siblings Samuel Hawkins, Benjamin Hawkins, Wanda Huffer and Dorothy Patton. She is survived by her daughter Rita Carver; grandchildren John Carver and Emily Robinson; great grandson Skyler Robinson; nieces Betina Hawkins, Cheryl Hawkins and Debbie Hawkins; nephew Rick Patton; sister-in-law Benaze Hawkins and son-in-law Rick Carver.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017.
