Betty McCann Goodin, longtime resident of Tyler passed away January 23. 2017 at the age of 76.
Betty worked for Caldwell Playschool for 25 years serving as a teacher and administrator. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing Mahjong, cooking and traveling. She was also very proud of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them at their many activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Bennie McCann and brothers Esco, Billy Joe, Jack and Paul McCann. Betty is survived by her devoted, loving husband of 55 years, Joe Goodin; daughters Paula Hall and husband Roger of Texarkana, Betsy Maeker and husband Walter of Pearland; son David Goodin and wife Diana of Cypress; seven grandchildren, Collin Hall of Dallas, Kristin Hall of Texarkana, Ryan Hall of Texarkana, Catherine Goodin of Cypress, Noah Goodin of Cypress, Trey Maeker of Pearland and Jordan Maeker of Pearland. Her survivors also include brothers Ray McCann and wife Sandee of Corsicana, Gene McCann and wife Diane of Tomball; sister Linda Harrison and husband Billy of Corsicana; sister-in-law Wilma McCann of Trinity, sister-in-law Jimmie McCann of Purdon and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Hopewell Cemetery in Navarro. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or MD Anderson Cancer Center.
