Barbara Ann Warfield, 82, of Round Rock passed away in her home on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017. Born Oct. 23, 1934 in Chatfield, she is predeceased by her parents E.T. and Carrie Powell of
Corsicana and her late husband of 62 years, Frank Warfield of Round Rock.
She spent many years in the accounting field in Austin with the Austin American Statesman Credit Union, Gene Naumann Real Estate, Don McElwreath Real Estate, and retired from the Williamson
County Appraisal District in Georgetown in 1997.
As a teenager Barbara played coronet in the Corsicana High School Marching Band. She also loved roller skating and worked as a soda jerk at a local soda fountain.
As a young woman, she fell in love with genealogy and spent years tracing her ancestry line, eventually joining the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a member of the Corsicana Jaycettes.
Her dogs were very important to her and she enjoyed sitting on the patio with them as she drank her morning coffee. Her favorite music was from the 1950's, and included artists such as The Platters, Fats
Domino, Elvis Presley and Jo Stafford. Barbara was an avid bridge player, loved antiquing, reading and cooking. She enjoyed growing plants in her greenhouse and awaiting the blossoming of her beloved
Night Blooming Cereus cacti. Blue was her favorite color and she was enamored with the gemstone turquoise, being able to look at a piece to determine its mine origin. She loved camping, and her
favorite places to vacation were California, Colorado, and New Mexico. She loved the cool, crisp air of autumn, the scent of fir trees, and the mountainous terrain. The Christmas season was her favorite time of year.
Barbara is survived by her son, Bryan Warfield of Plano; daughter Stephanie Salles and her husband Chris of Houston; brothers A.T. Powell and his wife Cheryl of Salado; Mark Powell and his wife
Cindy of Corsicana and several extended family members.
